BiographyAs a teenager, Francisco Mora began studying drawing and painting at La Huerta Regional Rural School, Michoacan, Mexico. He transferred to the School of Painting and Sculpture in Mexico City in 1942 where he supported his studies by painting houses. In 1941 he joined the Taller Grafica Popular (Popular Graphics Workshop) creating works that addressed the social ills of Mexico’s working class as well as the country’s rich culture. In addition to his lithographs, woodcuts, and paintings, he also made illustrations for books, magazines, and newspapers, and created posters for trade unions.
