Norie Sato

BiographyNorie Sato graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington. Since 1982, she has completed a number of public art commissions including transit projects in Seattle, Phoenix, Portland, and Salt Lake City, as well as installations at the Dallas Convention Center and Portland City Hall. She has had more than 15 solo exhibitions of her work across the United States and has received awards including the Artist Trust Fellowship for media artists, and an Artist Fellowship from the Washington State Arts Commission for her video-related works of art. She also has received the Betty Bowen Award, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship award three times.
