Kent Lovelace

Kent Lovelace received his BFA from the University of Colorado in 1976 and his MFA from the University of Washington in 1979. After graduation, he founded Stone Press Editions, a gallery and print workshop in Seattle. The print shop collaborated with both regional and nationally recognized artists including Jacob Lawrence, Paul Horiuchi, Dale Chihuly, and Norie Sato among others, to create hand-printed original editions. Lovelace also created print artwork for the Smithsonian, the NAACP, the Seattle Art Museum, Mill Pond Press, Pilchuck, and other clients.

For his own work, Lovelace focused originally on lithography and watercolor, but in the last decade of his career worked primarily in oil. His primary inspirations were natural subjects. His work has been exhibited in Washington, New Mexico, and California and can be found in numerous private, corporate, and public art collections nationally. Lovelace also taught at Pratt Fine Arts Center and Gage Academy as well as regional art museums and workshops.
