Glass Eye Studio
founded 1978
Glass Eye Studio is owned and operated by Susan and Ted Smith. It is located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. The studio was founded in 1978 by art glass pioneer Rob Adamson with the mission to provide young glass artists the opportunity to make a living while they developed their artistic voice. Artists who have had an association with the studio over the years include Preston Singletary, Dante Marioni, Paul Marioni, Walter Lieberman, Fritz Dreisbach and Richard Royal. The studio was an early production shop for Dale Chihuly. Today’s GES has re-focused on the founding mission by adding aspiring artists to the staff who work in conjunction with the core team of talented glass blowers.
