Georges Schreiber

BiographyGeorges Schreiber moved to New York in 1928 after studying in Berlin, London, Rome, Paris, and Florence. He exhibited widely including such prestigious institutions as the Carnegie Institute, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Art and Whitney Museum of American Art. In addition to his lithography, Schreiber also was a painter, illustrator, and watercolorist. For many years he taught at the New School for Social Research in New York and was a regular contributor to several national magazines. He also authored and illustrated several books. Schreiber traveled across the country regularly sketching and painting images of everyday life. He exhibited his travel paintings as a Panorama of America at numerous galleries and museums across the country.
