Mark Takamichi Miller

born Enid, Oklahoma, 1960
BiographyMark Takamichi Miller studied psychology and art at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and earned his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa. He has had one-person exhibitions at the King County Arts Commission Gallery, Seattle, and the LaVerne Krause Gallery at the University of Oregon, Eugene. He has shown extensively throughout the United States and the Puget Sound region, including the Northwest Annual, Bumbershoot Arts Festival, and LAVA 2002. He has taught for over 25 years at universities throughout the country including the University of Washington, Cornish College of the Arts, and the University of Oregon. His work is included in the Seattle Arts Commission Portable Works Collection and Microsoft Art Collection among others. He has received two fellowships from The MacDowell Colony and was awarded a Neddy Artist Fellowship in 2001. In 2011 he founded the Miller School of Art in Seattle.
