Ralph Gibson

born Los Angeles, California, 1939
BiographyRalph Gibson completed his studies at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1958. He began his professional career as an assistant to the renowned social realist photographers Dorothea Lange and then Robert Frank.

He went on to build an internationally successful career. His photographs are in the permanent collection of over one hundred museums, he has published over fifty art books, and his works have been in over two hundred exhibitions worldwide.
