BiographyPrintmaker Bill Ritchie received his BA from Central Washington University and his MA in printmaking from San Jose State College. While teaching at the University of Washington he began experimenting with combining printmaking, video, and computer art resulting in an innovative body of work that is nationally recognized. Ritchie also has taught at Evergreen State University, University of Oregon, and Highline and Shoreline community colleges. He has an extensive exhibition history that stretches nationally and internationally and he also has created a number of installations and performance works. His work can be found in numerous individual collections as well as public and corporate holdings. He has won numerous awards for his teaching, research, and design. In 2004 he began making and selling Halfwood etching presses and printmaking toys to popularize fine art printmaking.
