Yuji Hiratsuka

born Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, 1954
BiographyYuji Hiratsuka studied art at Osaka Ichiritsu Kogei High School (Osaka Municipal High School of Art & Industry) and then at Tokyo Gakugei University (Tokyo Teachers’ University) where he received a BS in Art Education in 1978. In 1985 he moved to the United States to pursue graduate degrees in printmaking at New Mexico State University (MA) and at Indiana University (MFA). Since 1992 Hiratsuka has been teaching printmaking and drawing at Oregon State University. His work is part of public collections across the United States and in Europe and Japan.
