BiographyPaul Berger studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, and earned his master of fine arts degree from the Visual Studies Workshop at the State University of New York, Buffalo. He has been awarded two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and helped establish the photography department at the University of Washington’s School of Art in 1978 where he is currently the Donald E. Petersen Professor in the Arts. Berger has exhibited his work both nationally and in Europe and was the subject of a 2003 retrospective exhibition Paul Berger: 1973-2003 at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago. His work has been published in numerous texts on digital photography and both his print and digital photography can be found in collections across the United States and in France.
