Erik Gronborg

born Copenhagen, Denmark, 1931
BiographyErik Gronborg attended the University of California, Berkely starting in 1960 and eventually acquiring both his bachelor's and master's degrees in sculpture. From 1965 to 1969, he taught at Reed College, Portland, OR. In 1973 he began teaching ceramics at San Diego State University then went to work at MiraCosta College in Oceanside in 1975 where he stayed until he retired in 2001.

Originally he worked primarily in metal and wood, then he began to use clay during his time in Portland. He has continued to work with and sometimes combine all three materials.
