Bernard Steffen

BiographyBernard Steffen was a painter and printmaker who specialized in rural scenes and landscapes. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, the Art Students League, the Los Angeles Art Students League, and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. From 1934 to 1941 he worked as a muralist for the Federal Art Project under the Works Progress Administration. He later taught at the school of the National Serigraph Society, an organization that promoted screenprinting, and authored the book Silk Screen in 1963.
