Marion Greenwood

BiographyMarion Greenwood traveled broadly throughout her career as a painter, lithographer, and muralist spending time in Mexico, Asia, the West Indies, and Europe. She trained at the Art Students League in New York City and the AcademieColarossi in Paris. In 1932 she traveled to Mexico to study fresco painting and created murals for the Mexican government. In 1936 she returned to New York to work for the Federal Art Project under the Works Progress Administration. Greenwood was one of two women artists who served as war correspondents during World War II. Throughout her career her work was included in prestigious group exhibitions and acquired for museum collections across the country.
