Charlie Miner

born Modesto, California, 1947
BiographyCharlie Miner studied at Stanislaus State College, California and Humboldt State College from 1969-1972. He began working at a bronze foundry but switched to working with glass after attending a sculpture conference in 1972 and meeting Harvey Littleton. On his return to Santa Fe, he started working with Glory Hole Glassworks as a glassblower and also openedTesuque Glassworks in 1975. In 1990 he went to Pilchuck Glass School where he learned glass casting and he began combining cast glass and cast bronze techniques in his work.

His work is represented in private and public collections throughout the United States, including the Corning Museum of Glass, New York; Fuller Craft Museum, Massachusetts; Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC; New Orleans Museum of Art, Louisiana; the Tucson Museum of Art, Arizona; and the New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Fe.
