BiographyThe International Graphic Arts Society (IGAS) was founded in the early 1950s to support the activities of avant-garde printmakers. Selections for publication were made by curators and prominent artists. The IGAS was established under the sponsorship of Lessing J. Rosenwald to foster the graphic arts. They organized competitions and travelling exhibition, and promoted non-profit, educational programs.
