BiographyLaura Castellanos grew up on Long Island and moved to Miami in 1979 where she received a full scholarship to Miami Dade Community College and was awarded a Marty Colker Visual Arts scholarship at Florida International University.

Since the early 1990’s, her work has been included in many public art collections. Other highlights include, the annual Bumbershoot festival poster, the City of Seattle’s Civic Fence Project, Shunpike Storefront Project, and a televised feature on the Seattle Channel’s Art Zone with host Nancy Guppy.

Recent solo exhibitions include, “Assorted Idols” at Moses Lake Museum & Art Center in 2012 and “Borrowed Tribe” at Gallery 4Culture. Laura is an awardee of the prestigious Pollock-Krasner award and an Artist Trust GAP grant recipient.
