Asa Cheffetz

BiographyAsa Cheffetz was an illustrator and printmaker, noted particularly for his skills with the complicated technique of wood engraving. He trained at the Boston Museum School and the National Academy of Design. His work was widely exhibited at such prestigious venues as the Royal Academy in London, the Pennsylvania Academy in Philadelphia, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Cheffetz won a number of awards and honors during his lifetime among them being selected to design the official bookplate for the Library of Congress. His work can be found in collections across the country.
