BiographyLuigi Lucioni emigrated to the United States with his family at the age of eleven. In 1915 he won a competition which allowed him to attend Cooper Union. He then went on to study at the National Academy of Design. A Tiffany Foundation Fellowship allowed him to return to Italy to study Renaissance art resulting in a precise, sharp style. He became known for his realistic landscapes both painted and etched, generally scenes from New York State and Vermont.
