Chokosai Eisho

BiographyEisho Chokosai, also known as Shoeido, was a ukiyo-e artist and the most prominent student of Eishi. Eisho produced at least twenty print series with the majority of his work appearing between c.1792 and c.1799. He specialized in courtesans and the depiction of the Yoshiwara, Edo's legal brothel district. He also produced a few shunga (erotic print) books.
