Jason Hirata is a contemporary, multimedia artist who uses his work to address technology, language, and social and cultural issues in the world today. He uses historical frames of reference to discuss our present world as well as utilizing technology and contemporary art practices.

Hirata received his BFA in photomedia in 2010 from the University of Washington. He has presented exhibitions recently in Portland, Oregon, New York, and Seattle including the Frye Art Museum and James Harris Gallery. He was an artist-in-residence at Seattle University in 2014-15, which culminated in an exhibition at the Vachon Gallery. Hirata is the 2015 recipient of The Brink Award and will be mounting a solo exhibition at the Henry Art Gallery in 2016. He lives and works in Seattle and New York.
