Paco Young

BiographyPaco Young was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1958 and spent his formative years in Nashville, Tennessee. He studied at the Memphis College of Art and earned a bachelor of fine arts in 1981. Young was mainly a wildlife painter and spent the years after graduation traveling around the United States painting with his wife. In 1994 they settled in Bozeman, Montana, where Young continued to paint the regional wildlife. Many of his works were reproduced as prints and are used by organizations like the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Rifle Association to raise money for wildlife conservation. In 2001 Young was commissioned by the National Parks Service to paint Yellowstone’s most famous geyser, and his work Old Faithful is now a permanent installation in the historic Old Faithful Inn inside Yellowstone National Park. Young passed away in Bozeman in 2005.
