BiographyLouise Boyer began painting and drawing at the age of seven. She received her training in painting and design from the Carnegie Institute of Technology graduating in their first class in 1913. She studied art history at the University of Pittsburgh eventually becoming a designer, painter, and graphic artist. In 1949 she moved to New York City and made silk paintings with her daughter, the artist Helen Boyer. Late in life she painted miniatures for illuminated manuscripts.
