Leigh Mulhall Kilpin

Born on the Isle of Wight in Ryde, England, Legh Kilpin became a resident painter of Montreal, Canada, and was known for his portraits, landscapes, miniatures, and etching.

He studied art in England at the South Kensington School of Art in London and later became Art Master there.

In 1906, he emigrated to Canada with his wife and children. He became a member of the Art Association of Montreal and the Arts Club and exhibited at the Royal Academy of London and the Royal Canadian Academy. He was also a teacher in Canada, teaching at the Montreal Technical Institute and then in public schools in the Westmount School District.

The Langley Centennial Museum & National Exhibition Centre houses the largest collection of Kilpin's.
