Danny Pierce

BiographyDanny Pierce studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles before he was drafted in 1942 during World War II. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945.

Pierce also attended the American Art School in New York and the Brooklyn Museum Art School. He taught drawing for one year at Hunter College in New York and then took a job in 1953 as an art instructor job at the Burnley School for Professional Art in Seattle, now known as The Art Institute of Seattle. He opened Red Door Studio in Kent, WA, in 1959.
Pierce moved to Wisconsin to accept a teaching position at the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he worked from 1965 to his retirement in 1985. After his retirement he returned to Kent, Washington.
