Charles Parriott graduated from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA with a bachelor of fine arts in 1976. He went on to study at Pilchuck Glass School between 1974-79 and at the University of Applied Arts in Prague in 1985-86. Parriott co-founded Glass Eye Studio in 1978 and taught at Pilchuck Glass School from 1986-89, in 1992, and in 2001. He worked as a designer and colorist in the Dale Chihuly studio from 1988-2001 and was the founding director of the hot shop at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma from 2001-03. His work is in the collections of institutions such as SAFECO Corporation in Seattle, Tacoma Art Museum, and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. Parriott has received a National Endowment for the Arts and Crafts Fellowship, a Hauberg Fellowship from Pilchuck Glass School, and a Guinness Book of Records Award for the world’s largest bottle of wine.
