Carl T. Chew has pursued a dual career as a visual artist and a science teacher with Seattle Public Schools. He received his bachelor of science in zoology and a master of fine arts in printmaking and video from the University of Washington. Chew has had solo exhibitions at the Seattle Art Museum, the Northwest Museum of Art and Culture in Spokane, and the Whatcom Museum of History and Art in Bellingham as well as galleries in Seattle and Brooklyn. His awards and honors include an Artist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and an Award of Merit from the American Landscape Architects. Chew was also selected for inclusion in 50 Northwest Artists, the 1983 survey of the Northwest contemporary art scene.
