Richard Craig Meitner

Richard Meitner received his BA from University of California, Berkeley, B.A. in 1972 then went on to study at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunst, Amsterdam and the

Gerrit Rietveld Akademie, Amsterdam. He started his own hot glass studio in 1976 in Amsterdam where he still lives. He co-supervised the glass department of the Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam from 1981-2000, and has been a member of the faculty of the New University of Lisbon’s Master’s degree program in Portugal, the Art and Science of Glass, since 2009. A retrospective show of his work was held in 1981 at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and he has had solo shows of his work at the Corning Museum of Glass and the Museum of Glass, Tacoma amont others.
