Arnold J. Kemp

Arnold J. Kemp is a painter, photographer, and poet who received his joint Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tufts University, Massachusetts and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and his Master of Fine Arts from Stanford University. He has had solo exhibitions at the San Francisco African American Historical Society, Gallery ESP and Quotidian Gallery in San Francisco, the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art in Oregon and has participated in group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has received a number of awards including a Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship and a residency at Cite International des Arts in Paris. He currently manages the MFA program for the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
