DescriptionVHS tape, case and booklet: Black VHS tape with 8 short films. "Hooray The Economy is Booming" is the sixth film on the tape. This film features found news footage and speaks to the economic hard times of the late 90's, specifically the low paying service jobs people were forced to take during the tech boom. All 8 titles on the compilation are written on a printed label on cassette front. Each of the films are created from monochromatic images of found footage, manipulated digitally. O'Connell also created the soundtrack (featuring manipulated found sounds). The video tape case has a black and white photo-copied image of a horse on the front and a naked woman spanking a naked child on the back. Both images are blurred. Included in the cassette is a small booklet of black and white photocopied images (one 2 page spread is dedicated to each film) and text related to the short flims (5 sheets, bent and stapled to form booklet).On View
